There are 2 distinct types of affiliate marketing.  Both involve Internet Marketing someone else's product for commission on sales generated by the Internet Marketer.  However, each differs greatly from the other:

  1. One deals directly with the brand seller, is much simpler, makes less money and requires massive direct E-mail promotion.  The most popular products sold are e-Books, How-to manuals; and much "get rich in 27 days or less" "guru" stuff.  Primary Brand Sellers are www.clickbank.com, www.paydotcom.com and www.jc.com.  
  2. The other offers potential to make much more money, requires obtaining Offers from CPA Networks, needs a little more market research, specialized software to create Direct Link and/or Landing Page promotion campaigns and publication of the promotional campaigns on PPV Networks.  The Brand Sellers come from the CPA Networks who contracts with the Brand Owner to Internet Mass Market the Brand on a commission basis.  

CAN YOU REALLY MAKE MONEY?

Most Internet Marketers work in the No. 1 described above.  Some really struggle to make money to pay business expense.  Many do not have good sources of E-mail lists or keep "overworking" un-targeted Safelists, Mass Mailers and Blogs.    It is an labor intensive business!
